Taylor Rae Hillestad is both a professional graphic designer and freelance artist living in the Twin Cities. She developed her passion for the arts by being exposed to it by her Grandpa Ray who was an artist. She attended numerous art and design classes throughout her life, and studied painting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago during a summer between high school. She graduated from the Kansas City Art Institute earning a BFA in Graphic Design.
By working as an intern at Aveda, and currently at the beauty and haircare manufacturer, Creative Laboratories, Inc.; she specializes in packaging design, branding, educational materials, content creation, advertisements, along with editing videos and creating websites for a variety of beauty and consumer based products. She is also proficient with production design and printing methods for various design platforms. Her packaging, educational materials, and branding campaigns can be seen in salons across the country and at major retail stores like Ulta, Walmart, Ross, and Sally Beauty to name a few. Taylor also has does freelance graphic design work for national musicians, stores, and businesses. She worked with Eliot Lewis of Hall & Oates, and her rock merchandise designs were even sold at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas.
In her spare time, she is a commissioned portrait artist, specializing in colorful portraits of celebrities, athletes, and custom commissions. Her painting website is at TaylorRaeArt.com
